- Assess how well a patient's needs are being met in order to assure their well-being
- Interpret behaviors associated with dementia with an eye toward a patient's desire to communicate
- Implement effective communication strategies
- Respond to aggressive behavior by a patient in a safe, effective, and constructive manner
- Implement effective interventions to ease a patient's experience
